Happy Mardi Gras!
— Joan England, Senior Director of Sales and Marketing
Mardi Gras, isn’t just a day or a season in New Orleans—it's a state of mind. And it’s something that’s definitely on our minds as we plan for our first annual user conference this year, which (if you haven’t already heard) will be held from October 5-8, 2016 in New Orleans (or, as the locals say, N’awlins)!
We definitely want our attendees to have some Mardi Gras-like fun, but we also want them to take away valuable knowledge and insights that will not only be useful in their day-to-day business operations, but also help them ASCENDto the next level of success. This means that in addition to regulators and technology experts, we’ll also be inviting business and personal growth experts and economists. Most importantly, we want to know what you would like to learn. So if you’re considering attending, please share your thoughts with us - more details below.
Of course, Mardi Gras isn’t the only thing happening in February. This month’s newsletter is jam-packed with all the information you need about our latest product updates and events… and since you have an extra day this month, why not take it as an opportunity to learn something new and grow your business.
Introducing Custom Pricer and Investor Pricer!
Calyx Pricer® our highly-efficient and configurable product and pricing engine, is now available in two versions to better meet your needs:
Custom Pricer is used by portfolio lenders to manage their own rates and fees from their loan origination software.
Investor Pricer is used by originators to search for investor pricing based on product types, rates, margins, etc.
Both versions are used seamlessly with Calyx Point®, eliminating multiple logins, loan program templates, and data entry. The bidirectional data flow simplifies processes, as well as improves accuracy and efficiency. Users can find the best deals for their clients, see the street price for borrowers, and lock or float rates for their loans—all online.
Football season is officially over, which means in a few short weeks, pitchers and catchers report to warmer locales and spring training begins. Of course, baseball teams aren’t the only ones who should prepare for a new season!
With the spring home buying season right around the corner, our Professional Services Group (PSG) can help you prepare by setting up new business rules, creating or adjusting your templates, or giving your all-stars and rookies a Point refresher course. PSG staff members can come to your location or offer personalized consultations by phone. To learn more about the services that PSG offers or to schedule a PSG consultation, contact your Account Manager at 800.362.2599 or send a message.
In addition, new webinars are regularly added to our schedule. Sign up today for one (or more) of our webinars scheduled this month.

Transforming How Loans Are Originated
PathSoftware™, the newest division of Calyx Technology, Inc., is a unique, highly-structured, end-to-end loan origination software (LOS) with flexible, yet precisely configured workflows to maximize visibility and productivity in a single, integrated platform for multiple business channels. What sets Path apart from any other LOS in the industry is that it is completely data driven, not form-driven. Borrower and property data is collected in Path and the information is used to populate forms, making adapting to and complying with new regulations like TRID, smooth and efficient.
You’ve been asking… and the answer is yes, the updated Fannie Mae Cash Flow Analysis (form 1084) is available in Point. The updated form, which became effective February 1st, is accessible from the Forms menu or the shortcut toolbar in Point. For additional questions, contact Calyx Support at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Calyx Network Keeps Growing…
To help make your processes simple and seamless with Point, we’re pleased to announce that we’ve added two new service providers to the Calyx Network:

How Lender Credits Are Calculated on the Loan Estimate
Based on the valuable feedback we received from our users about applying lender and seller credits and other adjustments to the cash-to-close calculation, we added the Payoffs & Adjustments screen. Users can apply a lender credit, cash deposit and seller credit to reduce the cash-to-close. When the Standard Form check box is selected, these values calculate as negative amounts in section J of the Loan Estimate.
Reminder: When a Closing Disclosure is used, users must click the Copy from Fees Worksheet button on the Closing Costs Worksheet to populate the fees from the Fees Worksheet. This action applies the credit to section J on page 2 of the Closing Disclosure.
Krewe—a fanciful spelling of crew that was coined in the early 19th century—is the group that organizes festivities for Mardi Gras.
While our first annual Calyx user conference won’t be held during Mardi Gras, it will be held in NOLA from October 5–8, 2016 at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans. And our krewe has already come up with this year’s theme: ASCEND. We’re designing the 2016 Calyx ASCEND Conference (#AscendNOLA16) to be a unique experience that inspires you - our partners - to feel more confident in your position the industry, become better versed in the latest (and upcoming) industry changes, and give you greater understanding of our products and services. In short, we want the 2016 Calyx ASCEND Conference to help you rise to the next level of success.
We are currently organizing sessions that will explore new ways to grow your business and comply with the latest regulations, as well as live product training and networking events. But, because we also want this to be the best conference that you attend the year, we need to hear from you!
Were you, or anyone you know, born on leap day (February 29)? If so, let us know via social media before Friday, February 26. Tell us the birthday person’s name, birth year and include #CalyxLeapDay16, and we’ll be sure to give a special shout out to everyone on their official birthday.
